Future Continuous Tense
What is the future continuous tense?
The future continuous tense is a verb tense that shows an action happening over a period of time in the future. “I will be watching movies all night” is an example of the future continuous tense, as it indicates an action continuing over a specific future period of time.
Future continuous tense is also known as future progressive tense.
Uses of the future continuous tense
You can find the below points useful while you are using the future continuous tense.
Denoting an action that takes place at a point of time in the future
- He will be watching the South Indian movie along with his brother at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow.
- Neelam will not be sleeping at that time.
Expressing an action that will take place over a period of time and not all at once
- The judges will be announcing the winners of the competition at 2 pm on Monday.
- According to the plan, we will be meeting at the SBI Padrauna branch around 10 a.m.
Comparing between the present and the future
- This time next month, they will be traveling to Italy.
- He might not be bold enough to make a decision now, but he will definitely be living a good life in the future.
Indicating more than one action taking place at the same time in the future
- I will be going to school at 10 am so I can drop her off as well.
- Teena told me that she cannot make it to the reception tomorrow because she will be travelling to Mumbai.
Rules for Affirmative Sentences in the future continuous tense
Structure: Subject + will + be + verb-ing form + rest of the sentence.
For examples:
- I will be going there tomorrow.
- He will be cooking chicken in the evening.
- She will be performing on the stage.
- They will be playing basketball in the afternoon.
- Sonu will be coming home on Monday.
- Razia and Mania will be writing a letter to her brother.
Rules for Negative Sentences in the future continuous tense
Structure: Subject + will + not + be + verb-ing form + rest of the sentence.

There are two types of Interrogative sentences:
Yes/No type of question
The sentences that start with helping verbs or modal verbs are called the Yes/No type of question.
Structure of Yes/No Type: Will/Shall + subject + be + verb-ing form + rest of the sentence?

Wh-word type of question
The sentences which start with question words are called the Wh-word type of questions.
