Defining the First Kalima:

The Arabic word Kalimah means “An Islamic oath/statement/declaration of allegiance with the Almighty Allah.” There are six Kalimas in Islam which are very important for Muslims. The First Kalima name in Islam is “Kalima Tayyab” which is the first pillar of Islam, “The Tauheed”, the Second Kalima represents the virtue of Sahadat, and the last three Kalima represents the virtues of Zikr of Allah SWT.

ला इलाहा इलल्लाहु मुहम्मदुर्रसूलुल्लाहि

“La Ilaha Illallaahu Muhammadur Rasoolullaah”

“अल्लाह के सिवा कोई माबूद नहीं और हज़रत मुहम्मद सलल्लाहो अलैहि वसल्लम अल्लाह के रसूल है।

There are two segments of the first Kalima Tayyab. The first segment represents the concept of the oneness of Allah (Tauheed), It means, there is no God but He, and believing Him and accepting His supremacy is the core belief of every Muslim. The second segment of First Kalima represents the concept of believing that Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) is the last prophet and messenger of Allah and there will be no prophet after him (Risalat). It was narrated that Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

Urge your dying ones to say La ilaha illallah. Sunan Ibn Majah 1444

Messenger of Allah (SAW) also said that:

Whoever says and accepts that there is no god but Allah, enters Paradise even if he performs adultery and even if he steals (i.e. even if he commits major sins). (Nasa’i, Tabarani and others from Abu al-Darda’ – sahih

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) stated about first Kalima that:

Whoever witnesses that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger, Allah forbids the Fire from touching him. Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim from ʿUbada ibn al-Samit.
